Meet Our Board Certified Physicians

Jim Conahan, M.D. – Board Certified Ophthalmologist

Dr. Jim Conahan

Jim Conahan, M.D. is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist who specializes in refractive and cataract surgery.  He has been practicing since 1991 and was voted Denver’s Top Ophthalmologist in 5280 Magazine by his peers.  Dr. Conahan has experienced the miracle of LASIK himself, and shares his experiences as both a surgeon and patient.  He is involved in the entire process of laser vision correction, helping you to make the best decision, answering all of your questions and concerns, and personally seeing you at every appointment.

Dr. Conahan has always believed that it was a privilege and a gift to be able to give sight to the blinded poor of the world. Through his volunteer work in Mante, Mexico he has performed well over 1000 free cataract surgeries.  In 2006, he and his wife, Molly, formed a nonprofit organization called The Mission of Healing Eye. Their mission seeks to bring free medical and surgical eye care to the blinded poor in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. Dr. Conahan and his volunteers have performed over 2500 cataract surgeries, seen 11,000 people in the eye clinic, and distributed 11,000 pairs of glasses—all with no charge to the patients.

He lives in Highlands Ranch, CO with his wife, Molly, and is father to three adult children and one granddaughter.

Susan Stewart, O.D. – Board Certified Optometrist

Dr. Stewart grew up in Colorado Springs and received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Communication Disorders and Audiology from Colorado State University.   After practicing for many years in Alabama and California, she is thrilled to be back in her home state of Colorado.  She enjoys spending time in the mountains with her husband, four kids, and her dog, Lewis.  You can also find her at the barn riding as often as possible.

Dr. Stewart attended University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Optometry, earning her degree in 1994. Susan joined an ophthalmology group practice where she gained extensive experience in diagnosing and managing patients with glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other ocular disorders.  She also has experience fitting all types of contact lenses, including RGP and scleral lenses for keratoconus.   She was recognized professionally as the 1997 Young Optometrist of the Year (Alabama), elected president of the Birmingham Area Optometric Association, and held additional offices within these organizations before moving her practice to California.
